| Bob will be entering his first season at Team Indiana and brings with him a wealth of volleyball playing experience and knowledge.
Bob graduated from Lake Shore High School in Buffalo, New York in 1986 where he played varsity volleyball for four years. In his high school career he received many honors: All Conference, three years, MVP, two years, was voted as one of the Fab 50 volleyball recruits by Volleyball monthly his senior season, and won four gold medals in the Empire State Games.
His high school team won the conference championships three years in a row and won the regional championship once. At that time there was no state tournament for the boys. In addition to his volleyball career Bob also lettered in basketball three years and was a Division 1 recruit.
Bob’s club playing experience came with the Eden Volleyball club in Buffalo, New York. He played with Eden for three years and won numerous all tournament honors.
Bob received several Division 1 volleyball scholarship offers and finally chose Ball State University. Bob attended Ball State from 1987 - 1992. While at Ball State, Bob was a three year starter and played every position at one point in his career. The highlight of his college volleyball career was playing in three NCAA Final Fours where the Cardinals took third place twice and forth once. Bob graduated in 1992 with a degree In Industrial Technology and a minor in Business Administration.
After his senior year at Ball State he coached at Delta High School. He was the Junior Varsity Coach and the Assistant Varsity Coach.
Many years passed before Bob got the itch to get back to playing and coaching. Last year Bob coached club for the Carmel Lady Pups 11-1 team. That was their inaugural season as a club.
Bob and his wife, Sandy, live in Carmel with their three daughters, Samantha, Kasandra and Madison. Bob started his own residential construction business in 1996. Penzes Construction Inc. will take care of all your residential construction needs. |
