Katie's enthusiasm for volleyball began in her fourth grade year at Immaculate Heart of Mary School and Parish. She is a veteran of five years for the Catholic Youth Organization. In addition to her CYO experience, she was also a member of Circle City's club program from ages thirteen through sixteen. In 2004, Katie played for Team Indiana's inaugural year under Coach Steve Simonsen. Katie also played four years at Brebeuf Jesuit under Brian Murray, winning a state title her junior year.
In addition to her experience on the court, Katie has also coached for many seasons. During her high school years, she coached CYO for three seasons and three club seasons with her father, Kevin Kelley, including the Team Indiana Smurf Dawgs who won a bid for Junior Olympics in Salt Lake City and placed 22nd overall.
After graduating high school, Katie took time off from coach to attend Indiana University. She majored in business management and entrepreneurship. Since graduating in May 2009, she has joined Northwestern Mutual as a Financial Representative.
Katie is looking forward to getting involved and coaching volleyball again for Team Indiana.
