Kevin KelleyKevin's passion for volleyball found its beginnings in 1997, experiencing his first CYO season with his daughter, then in the fourth grade. He recognized the beneficial opportunities for development and growth for girls through playing this highly competitive team sport. This enthusiasm for the sport has translated into several years as a CYO coach in the Immaculate Heart of Mary program.

After leading his team to the City Championship in 2003, Kevin saw a strong desire among his girls to continue playing beyond the CYO season at a club level. The result was the installation of one full size sport court and the formation of the North Side Volleyball Club.

In 2004, the North Side Volleyball Club was rechristened Team Indiana Volleyball Club and grew from the original one team to include four teams. Kevin and Team Indiana are looking forward to the 2009 club season after much success last year. As the 15-2 head coach, Kevin is prepared for another memorable season in the same position.

Last year Kevin’s 15-2 Tsunami won two tournaments (Central Zone Invite and Munciana Classic) along with several runner-up finishes in tournaments throughout the season. All of his players successfully made their high school teams (3 varsity, 7 junior varsity) for the 2008 season.

In 2007, Kevin had a successful season with his 14-2 (Blast) team. They had a very strong showing at the Central Zone Championships finishing 5th among highly competitive teams from the Midwest. His team won the Bronze Championships at the Colorado Crossroads Qualifier compiling a 7-2 record. They followed with another successful qualifier by finishing 6-3 at the Lone Star Classic. Blast also finished 3rd at the Holiday Inn Classic and 5th at Hoosier Regionals.

In 2005 the 14-2 (Smurf Dawgs) team finished 5th at MEQ among a very strong 14’s field. They also finished 3rd at the Central Zone Championships in Louisville, with their sole loss was to the eventual tournament champion. Against many odds, Kevin’s team finished 3rd at the Hoosier Regionals which landed the team an American bid to the Junior Olympics. After a strong showing at AAU Nationals, the Smurf Dawgs finished 22nd at the Junior Olympics in Salt Lake City.

Kevin’s personal goals for both his team and the club are that the athletes develop better volleyball skills, have an enormous amount of fun doing it, and their parents’ feel that their investment in the club is well worth their efforts.

While attending college, Kevin financed his education by water-skiing at Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven, Florida. He also was a member of his collegiate water-ski team. Kevin subsequently transferred to and graduated from Indiana University.

Kevin formed Superior Distribution, a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning distributorship in 1992. The company has grown to encompass multiple locations in multiple states. Kevin currently serves as the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Kevin’s daughter is a senior at Indiana University while his son Michael is a junior at Cathedral High School. His dog, Max, continues to greet everyone as they come in the doors of Team Indiana.
