Originally
from Bloomington, Indiana, Larry moved to the north side
of Indianapolis when he was ten. He graduated from Southport
High School in 1982. Larry grew up playing soccer and running
distance. The idea of coaching volleyball came while he
was at Ball State (Class of ’87.)
Larry has been coaching volleyball for
21 years, starting in 1986. He has experience coaching at
the freshman, JV and varsity levels of high school. Larry
is currently the Varsity Coach at Bishop Chatard High School.
Larry will begin is third year as Team Indiana’s 13-1
coach. He has previously coached the 13s through 17s age
groups in club and has coached cadet volleyball at St. Lawrence
since 1991. Larry teaches social studies at Lawrence North
High School.
Memorable coaching moments include a varsity
county championship at Lawrence North High School in 1993,
22-0 and 20-1 seasons with the freshman team at Bishop Chatard
High School, 2002 JV city Championship at Bishop Chatard
High School, 2000 CYO City Championships, a bronze medal
finish at club nationals in 2004 with Circle City 14-2 and
most recently 2004 IHSAA 3-A State Championship at Bishop
Chatard High School.
