Matt Akeright is a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan in Marion, Indiana. He served as assistant coach to the women's volleyball team for 3 years including 2000 when they won the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) volleyball championship.

Matt has had several other accomplishments in his coaching career. Two years ago, he was an assistant coach for the 2004 3rd Place finishers in the 14 and under American Division/ US Junior Olympic Championships in Houston. Last season with Team Indiana, he was the 16-2's head coach, who had a 1 st place finish at the Circle City Invite (Club) and finished the season as the Yellow division Champions at AAU Nationals in Orlando, FL.

Along with these responsibilities, Matt was also the assistant coach for Becky Murray's 12-1 Shmoo's. Their tremendously successful season concluded with an impressive showing at Nationals in Utah last season, defeating both the teams that were eventually in the finals before finishing in 11th place

Matt was most recently finished his 2nd year as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2005 3A State Championship Brebeuf Braves. Matt will be entering his 5th season as a club volleyball coach this year, once again as Becky's Assistant.
