Matt Gold is going into his second season at Team Indiana. In 2008 he coached Team Indiana’s 18-2’s, leading them to a victory in the Holiday Inn Classic. He also helped out the 15-1’s team, highlighted by a 2nd place finish at AAU Nationals in the 15 Open division.
In 2006 and 2007 he coached the 16-2’s and 16-1’s teams, respectively, at Crossroads of America (COA) Volleyball Club in Terre Haute. He was the assistant varsity coach at Terre Haute South High School in 2006, where he helped the Braves to a 25-win season.
Matt was a manager for the Rose-Hulman girls’ volleyball team in 2004 and 2005, and he acted as player-coach to RHIT’s men’s club volleyball team.
Matt graduated from Archbishop Moeller High School in 2003. He played four years at Moeller, winning regional honors as a setter in 2002 and 2003 and led Moeller to the state title game in 2003. He still holds records for solo blocks in a game and assists in a match.
Matt’s mother, Brenda, was an all-SEC player at the University of Kentucky, and his uncle, Bob, played at IPFW. Matt works as a software engineer at Software Engineering Professionals, Inc. and currently lives in Fishers.
