Michelle
has been active as a player and coach in club volleyball
for 17 years, playing for Falls Cities,
Kentucky Juniors (KJVA now KIVA) and Derby
City volleyball clubs in Southern Indiana. Michelle will
begin her fourth year coaching a top team at Team Indiana.
Last club season Michelle coached the
15-1 Toucans to top ten finishes at the MidEast
Qualifier and Colorado Crossroads Qualifier. The Toucans
earned their bid to Nationals by finishing second at the
Hoosier Regional Championships.
In 2006, Michelle coached 16-1
SWAT which became the first Team Indiana team to qualify
in the Open division at Nationals by finishing 2nd at the
Northern Lights Qualifier. She also assisted her husband,
Rich, with the National Champion 18-1 Terminators in her
free time. All 10 members of the 18-1 Terminators are playing
at the collegiate level, 9 for NCAA DIV I.
In 2005, Michelle coached the 18-1 Turtles
team that finished 3rd in the 18 American Division, and she
assisted her husband, Rich, with the 17-1 Bulldogs team that
finished 2nd in the 17 American Division.
To date Michelle has developed and produced
six Junior Olympic All Americans. She has also guided players
thru the recruiting process; to date 17 former players are
playing or have committed to play at the collegiate level.
Michelle is also the recruiting coordinator for Team Indiana.
She has currently guided 25 players through the process at

Before coaching at Team Indiana Michelle
spent seven years coaching for Circle City volleyball club.
In her last season with Circle City (2004) she and her husband,
Rich led the 16-3 team to Nationals, finishing in the top
30 in the 16 American Division.
Michelle
also has experience coaching at the collegiate level. She
was a graduate assistant for IUPUI (2002), where she focused
on recruiting correspondence, on-court training, and game
film exchange. She also was an assistant at Marian College
(2003, 2004). During her tenure, her primary responsibilities
were player development, recruiting, and the strength and
conditioning program.
Michelle graduated from New Albany High
School in New Albany, Indiana in 1998. She was an Honorable
Mention All-Conference selection and helped lead New Albany
to a sectional championship and regional runner-up finish
during her junior season. Michelle then accepted a Division
I scholarship to IUPUI, which brought her to Indianapolis.
She helped lead the Jaguars to the Mid-Continent Conference
championship her junior year, earning Second Team All-Conference
and All-Tournament accolades. She served as team co-captain
as a senior and was also honored with her third consecutive
Academic All-Conference award. Michelle finished her collegiate
career with her name occupying numerous single match and
career rankings in the IUPUI record book. She ranks in the
top 10 in kills, attempts, hitting percentage, and block
assists for a single match, as well as being among the leaders
in total and average kills and attempts for a career.
