Rich
will begin his third year coaching a top team at Team Indiana.
Last season Rich led the 18-1 Terminators to a National
Championship in the American Division - the first title
for Team Indiana. In 2005, he coached the 17-1 Bulldogs
that finished 2nd in the 17 American Division, and he assisted
his wife, Michelle, with the 18-1 Turtles team that finished
3rd in the 18 American Division. Rich has developed and
produced eight Junior Olympic All Americans, including
one MVP. Rich also guided his players thru the recruiting
process; to date 16 former players are playing at the collegiate
level.
Rich joins Team Indiana with a wealth of
playing and coaching experience. Rich help found the Butler
University Men's Volleyball club. While playing at BU, he
led the team in kills, digs, and aces all three years of
the club's existence.
Rich is still an active player both indoors
and outdoors, taking home numerous tournament championships.
Rich has played USAV volleyball for 7 years, winning the
Michiana Region 3 out of the last 4 years. His team finished
2nd in the nation in 2002.
Rich's coaching experience includes a three
year stint at Butler University in which he helped lead the
Bulldogs to a 76-28 overall record, including a 32-8 conference
record. In his final year at Butler, the Bulldogs won the
conference championship and qualified for the NCAA tournament,
the first ever appearance for the school. His primary coaching
responsibilities included player development, off-campus
recruiting, and scouting.
2003 was Rich's first year coaching club.
Alongside his wife Michelle, they led their team to Nationals,
finishing in the top 30 in the 16 American Division.
