Sara GallagherSara Marshall begins her third year at Team Indiana as the head coach of 18 Asics. Sara has coached in Indianapolis for 5 years at the club, high school, and college levels. She is the current assistant coach at Pike High School which finished 19-11 in her first campaign.

Last club season Sara assisted the 13-2 ELF and finished the season as the Head Coach of the 15-1 Evil Pop Tarts. The Pop Tarts finished 11th at the Inaugural JVDA championship and saw a highlight 2nd place finish at AAU Nationals in Orlando, FL. The team went on to produce 3 All-American athletes and finished a top the 15 and under ranked teams in this division. Expect Sara to continue in her active role as one of the setter trainers at Team Indiana.

In 2007, Sara assisted with 16-1Titans to a 3rd place finish in 16 American. In 2006, Sara assisted 16-1 SWAT which became the first Team Indiana team to qualify in the Open division at Nationals by finishing 2nd at the Northern Lights Qualifier.

Prior to coaching at Pike High School, Marshall spent 2 years as the Graduate Assistant at Butler University. While at Butler her responsibilities included travel, tape exchange, assisting with recruiting and on court instruction. She was responsible for 3 summers of Butler Volleyball camps and worked with the overseeing of the Pound Puppies club.

Sara was the starting setter on Butler's 2004 squad and continued her Butler career as a second assistant for the 2005 season. The Sonoma, Calif., native enjoyed a solid four-year career under head coach Sharon Clark, highlighted by the team's 18-10 record in 2004, as Gallagher (now Marshall) posted 1,224 assists, good for fourth in the Horizon League.

Marshall finished her Butler career with 1,465 assists, the seventh-highest total in Butler history. In her first three seasons at Butler, Marshall appeared mainly as a defensive specialist, and performed well, finishing her career with 585 total digs. But her best work came in her senior campaign, as she posted 40+ assists on 17 occasions and had 12 double-doubles. She started all 28 matches in 2004 and saw action in every game.

Before Butler, Marshall played at Sonoma Valley High School where she set her team to a 139-13 record. She also played for Empire Volleyball Club out of Santa Rosa, CA. She began coaching at Altimira Middle School and at the Boys and Girls Club where she and her mother founded a volleyball program.

Sara works at the Pike Freshmen Center where she is a Math Teacher. She is currently finishing her Master’s at Butler.
