Steve SimonsenThis will be Steve's 5th year with Team Indiana. He has a great deal of volleyball knowledge and experience both as a player and a coach. 

As a player Steve attended Indiana University Purdue University at Fort Wayne (IPFW) for college where he was a member of the men’s volleyball team as a setter/defensive specialist. In his four years at IPFW, Steve was a member of 3 NCAA Final Four teams. (1991,1992,and 1994) His playing honors include: Most Improved Player 1992, Scholar Athlete 1992-1994, Team Captain 1993/1994 season, NBC Sports Hero of the week April 1994, and Coaches' Award Winner 1994.

As a coach, Steve has had much success as well. Upon graduation from IPFW, Steve returned to Racine where he coached the boys 18 and under team for Great Lakes Volleyball Club. In the 3 years he was with the program Steve's teams finished in the top 10 at Nationals every year, and 7 of his players in those 3 years were named to the Volleyball Magazine FAB 50 List. In 1997 Steve moved to Indianapolis where he became a member of the Circle City Volleyball Staff. His first 2 years in the program he served as the assistant to Tom Pingel for the 18-1 team. In 2000 he was named head coach of the 15-1 team. While coaching this age group, his teams qualified in the Open Division of Nationals every year, and won the National Qualifier in Tampa, Florida in 2001. In the 2005 season, Team Indiana 15-1 Commotion finished 5th in the American Division at Nationals.  2006 season ended with the 15-1 Titans bringing home a 3rd place Bronze Medal in the American Division.  Last season Steve moved to the 17's age group where he lead the Rage to a 10th place finish in the American Division at Nationals.  This season finds Steve back at the 15's level where he hopes to have another productive and successful season. 

Steve a native of Wisconsin, a die hard Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger fan, now lives on the Northeast side of Indianapolis with wife Nicole and daughter Isabella "Izzy".
