This is Tak Arakawa’s first season with Team Indiana.  He believes teaching the values of hard work, team play, and communication.  Tak is passionate about promoting solid fundamentals with focus not only on skill advancement but the growth of players as athletes and leaders.  Most recently he has coached a 12U team in Carmel with great success having 8 out of 12 of his players making their 7th grade middle school teams this Fall Season.

Tak began his Volleyball career in 7th Grade as a setter and went on to play as a setter and right hitter in high school.  In college he was an all around player with the focus as middle hitter and was Co-Captain his senior year.   Tak has also played in the USVA Rocky Mountain Region from 1994-95.  He currently plays in local adult competitive leagues.

Tak was born and raised in Japan and moved to US in 1990 to continue his education.  He has BA from Nanzan University (Nagoya, JP) and MBA from Colorado State University (Pueblo, CO).  Tak moved to Indiana from Minneapolis in 2007 as his job responsibility changed.  He was also a Board Member for the Minneapolis Japanese School in 2005 and 2006 and served as Principal for a year.  He currently is employed by FedEx Services and lives in Carmel with his wife and three children.
