Kelsey Hoefer is from Freeport, Illinois and attended Freeport High School for four years. She played varsity volleyball and basketball all four years throughout high school. Her sophomore year she was named NIC-9 1st All-Conference. Her junior and senior year she was a captain and in her final year of high school she was named NIC-10 Conference MVP,1st team All-State in the state Illinois, and NIC-10 Female Athlete of the Year.

Kelsey played for Club Fusion for three years. She has spent the past two summers working volleyball camps at Virginia Tech for all age groups. She spent her freshman and sophomore years playing at Towson University in Maryland and transferred her junior year to IUPUI. Where she is the starting right side at IUPUI and is studying General Studies.
