Boys’ Volleyball Is Growing in Indianapolis with the Partnership of Team Indiana and Indy Elite
INDIANAPOLIS – Team Indiana Volleyball Club and Indy Elite Boys’ Volleyball Club are joining forces to bring more opportunities for boys to learn and play the sport of volleyball in Indianapolis, starting in October 2017. “Indy Elite has tremendous experience in the boys’ game and it was an obvious choice to add onto TI Nation,” says Brian Murray, Team Indiana club director.
“We are thrilled to be partnered with Team Indiana,” says Austin Hillman, club director and owner of Indy Elite Boys’ Volleyball Club. “Their experience and reputation in the volleyball community is something that we are excited to work with. With the growth of boys’ volleyball over that past few years, it made sense to partner with Team Indiana to give players and families a complete and competitive place to play. The possibilities and opportunities are maximized for both clubs by partnering.”
Boys’ volleyball is quickly becoming one of the most popular sports. “In the past, we’ve had some of our families go elsewhere to find an opportunity for their son to play. Having Indy Elite in house provides a solution for those families and allows exposure to those who have watched their sister(s) play,” says Murray. Currently, the growth rate for high school boys’ volleyball is 12% over the past four years, with 55,000 boys playing high school volleyball.
Indy Elite will be training out of their current facility as well as the Team Indiana facility, located at 2570 N. Shadeland Ave., Indianapolis. Registration for fall training is currently available for the boys. Tryout dates for the boy’s winter club season will take place the first week in October. Girl’s tryouts are split into two groups, 14 and under will begin October 22 and 15 and older will start November 5. Registration will open mid-September.
