Jada Allen Chooses Xavier University and the Big East

,

There is a lot of time, effort, and emotion used up in choosing where you want to further your volleyball and academic career, even more so when you are wanting to commit to a program in your freshman or sophomore year of high school. Fortunately, for Jada Allen, she was able to get through her checklist of items, have all of the appropriate conversations, and make the right decision for her. With that done, she was able to commit to Xavier University in Cincinnati without hesitation!

“I put together a list of all the things that are important to me in a college and Xavier checked off all those boxes,” said Allen, who will be a sophomore at Fishers High School in the fall. “I had a lot of conversations with different coaches, looked at different programs, and I just knew Xavier was where I wanted to be.”

Xavier is a member of the Big East conference athletically and historically offers outstanding academic programs. Which is great for Jada, since she wants to have a few different options for her college major.

“Xavier has strong academic offerings and is the environment I just knew I wanted to be around,” she explained. “I am very interested in ether biology to follow a veterinarian track, or education to be a teacher.”

She credits her coaches with helping her improve her game to set her up for this next step, and knows that as long as she continues to put the work in, she’ll be successful.

“My coaches have helped me get so much better over the year, and Michelle has helped me every step of the recruiting way,” Allen said.

When asked what one thing helped her prepare, she just said simply, “Continuing to work hard and never letting up.”

Congratulations, Jada! We can’t wait to watch you play in one of the most competitive conferences in the country!
